Abstract

Ferroelectric and Dielectric Investigations of Bismuth Ferrite (BiFeO3) Nanoceramics

Author(s): Chandrashekhar P. Bhole

In this paper we report the synthesis of BiFeO3 ceramics by solid state reaction method. The Xray analysis depicts the BiFeO3 sample have rhombhohedral perovskite structure. The ferroelectric measurement shows BiFeO3 ceramic exhibits ferroelectric nature with saturation, remnant polarizations of Ps = 0.26 μC/cm2, Pr = 0.11 μC/cm2 respectively. The dielectric constant and loss as a function of temperature (30-325oC) in the frequency range 10 kHz-1MHz shows that the dielectric constant and loss increases with increasing temperature. The room temperature dielectric measurement with frequency reveals the dielectric constant and loss decreases with increasing frequency for BiFeO3 ceramics.
